Tom Slingsby will be helming Oracle Team USA AC45 at America’s Cup World Series Naples, which runs April 16 – 21.
“I saw my name on the wing the other day, and there was a realization that it’s going to happen. Having been the tactician and calling a lot of the shots on the water, it shouldn’t be too hard of a transition,” said the Olympic gold medalist.

The Naples regatta will be Slingsby’s first America’s Cup World Series event as skipper. He was the tactician onboard the AC45 with for Russell Coutts for the ACWS San Francisco in October 2012, and he was in the same role at the 2012 ACWS in Naples and at the ACWS San Diego in November 2011.

The ORACLE TEAM USA crew in Naples will be

Tom Slingsby (helm)

San Newton (wing trimmer)

Kinley Fowler (jib trimmer)

Rome Kirby (runner)

Piet van Nieuwenhuijzen (bowman).
